Abstract

Requirements imposed by the Higher Accreditation Commission and the scientific community to candidate and to doctoral theses, steadily rise. Unfortunately, a considerable part of theses partially or completely don't answer these requirements, and quality of dissertations grows not so quickly as their quantity. This article represents an attempt of generalization of the typical mistakes made when writing a thesis, and is based on the long-term personal experience of the author including membership in three dissertation councils, the scientific management of graduate students and doctoral candidates. System and method are the main guides of science, therefore the special attention is paid to such methodologically important issues as system creation of the thesis, its compliance to the passport of specialty, creation of a tree of the purposes and a categorial tree. In detail the methodological principles of the formulation of a subject and object of research are considered. The interrelation and interdependance of scientific novelty, the statements submitted for defence and results of scientific research are shown. In this article abstracts of theses are cited, but their authors aren't specified for ethical reasons. At the same time existence of noted shortcomings doesn't belittle theoretical advantages of the done scientific work.
